🦘 About Kangaroo Ranch 🦘

Our Big Why

At the heart of Kangaroo Ranch is a belief that meaningful connections between people and wildlife can inspire lasting care for animals and the world they depend on.

Through exceptional lifelong care for our kangaroos and small-group education, we aim to turn a memorable encounter into curiosity, understanding, and a deeper commitment to conservation of endangered species and sustainability.

Kangaroo Ranch is a professionally managed, fully licensed private zoological facility in Colorado specializing in the care, husbandry, and biology of red kangaroos. Across our two licensed, regulated, and inspected campuses, we create meaningful, hands-on educational experiences that inspire curiosity in our guests. 🦘

Every experience at Kangaroo Ranch is designed around the care and well-being of our kangaroos while giving guests the unique opportunity to learn about these incredible animals in a personal and memorable way.

We believe that when people have the opportunity to connect with wildlife, they are inspired to learn more, care more, and ultimately do more to protect animals and the natural world. 🌎🦘

What we are:

Kangaroo Ranch is a Professionally Managed, fully licensed Private Zoological Facility in Colorado dedicated to the exceptional care of Red Kangaroos. Through meaningful, hands-on educational experiences, we aim to inspire a lifelong appreciation for wildlife and encourage the next generation of zookeepers, wildlife biologists, conservationists, and wildlife advocates.

What we are not:

We believe strongly in transparency about who we are and what we do, while maintaining an unwavering commitment to responsible zoological practices, animal welfare, and conservation-focused education. Kangaroo Ranch is not a nonprofit organization, rescue, or sanctuary. We do not operate as a wildlife rehabilitation or animal placement facility, nor do we represent ourselves as one. Our role is that of a Privately Owned Zoological Facility focused on exceptional lifelong animal care, education, and meaningful human-wildlife connections.

Animal Welfare

At Kangaroo Ranch, the health, safety, and well-being of our animals come first in every decision we make. We not only meet applicable federal, state, and local animal welfare requirements—we strive to exceed them through exceptional standards of husbandry, veterinary care, nutrition, enrichment, housing, and daily management. Our practices are guided by the individual needs of each animal, ensuring their welfare remains our highest priority throughout every stage of their lives.

Every kangaroo that joins Kangaroo Ranch is deeply loved and cared for and has a permanent home with us for life. We only welcome new kangaroos when we are prepared to introduce permanent members to the Kangaroo Ranch family, with the space, resources, and lifelong commitment necessary to provide them with exceptional care throughout their entire lives.

(p.s.) We’re a small team, and many of the people answering your messages are also Roo-Keepers caring for our kangaroos. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can, though replies may take a little longer during busy weeks.

Our animals’ immediate needs will always come first. If you haven’t heard from us, a friendly follow-up is always welcome. Thank you for your patience and for growing with us. ❤️
